Siding and Flashing Repair in Marshfield MA

Marine Home Improvement completed a siding and flashing repair in Marshfield MA. The work focused on the front and side of the home’s upper section, around the balcony and adjoining roofline.

Our team removed the existing siding in the repair areas, reworked the flashing and drip edges, and installed new siding to finish the exterior.

Front and Side Siding Repairs

The front repair area included the gable surrounding the sliding balcony door. Work also extended to the adjoining side wall where the upper section meets the sloping roof.

The project included:

  • Removing existing siding from the designated front and side areas.
  • Reworking flashing at the affected exterior transitions.
  • Reworking drip edges along the affected roof edges.
  • Installing new siding in the repair areas.

The project photos document the exposed wall surfaces, siding installation in progress, and finished exterior.

Flashing, Drip Edges and Exterior Details

This repair addressed both the siding and the details around its edges. Removing the siding provided access to the areas requiring flashing work before the new exterior finish was installed.

The finished section features gray shingle-style siding framed by white trim, keeping the repaired areas visually consistent with the surrounding home.

Choose Marine Home Improvement if you want to work with a serious contractor. A serious contractor is someone who confidently presents their industry knowledge and price point without turning it into a sales pitch. They listen to you, answer your questions thoughtfully, and don't try to upsell you on stuff you don't need. When Michel joined us for a free estimate, he took time to talk to both me and my wife equally to show us where the problems were, why they were problems, and what would happen if we didn't fix them. He laid out a fee and the cost per square foot of replacing potential rot along with an estimate for a separate issue that might be present. When his team came to do the labor, they sent me pictures of our stripped roof and explained what they would need to do about some issues along with the price to fix it. The price closely matched Michel's earlier estimate. Overall, his team was in and out in a day and now we have a beautiful new roof and peace of mind, all for what we think was a great price. I would use Marine Home Improvement again for other projects.

I had a spectacular experience with this company. The owner Mike got back to me quickly and was able to give me a timely and fair quote. The work began as promised a few weeks later and the crew was great. They were competent, professional, respectful, and kept a neat and clean work area. There was no cutting corners and the crew was detailed and thoughtful about what they were doing. Lastly, the house looks amazing! I went with James Hardie shingles and couldn't be happier with the finished project. I will definitely use them again for roofing and likely more windows and a deck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you replace siding on just part of a home?

Yes. This Marshfield project involved replacing siding in specific front and side areas. Whether a partial repair is suitable depends on the condition of the surrounding siding and materials underneath.

Does siding repair include flashing and drip edges?

The scope depends on the project. For this home, we reworked the flashing and drip edges as part of the siding repair.

Will new siding match the existing exterior?

We aim for a complementary appearance, although an exact match can depend on material availability, color and weathering. Here, gray shingle-style siding kept the repaired areas visually consistent with the home.
